Abstract

This study explores how artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can be employed to effectively enhance and document religious beliefs and practices. AI has the capability to process vast amounts of religious texts and sources, enabling the efficient extraction of significant information and patterns. Additionally, it facilitates the digitalization of religious heritage, ensuring its preservation for future generations. Smart applications also contribute to improving access to religious knowledge and fostering understanding between different cultures and religions. The use of AI in this field faces several challenges, including the need to consider the sensitivity of religious beliefs and rituals to avoid any negative reactions. Moreover, reliance on automated analysis may lead to the loss of cultural and spiritual context in traditional practices. Ensuring accuracy and avoiding bias is essential to preserving authentic values. Despite these challenges, AI offers promising opportunities for documenting religious heritage, provided that a balanced approach is adopted—one that acknowledges potential risks and respects the privacy and sanctity of religious beliefs.
